The GDMF 5K Road Race is one of our key fundraising events. We need YOU to help us continue our mission to provide scholarship funding to Special Operation soldiers and their families.*
We are deeply saddened that we cannot hold this event in person but we are working hard to ensure that you receive that same patriotic, do good community feeling that our race day brings to the town of Winchester. PLUS we will be able to share it far and wide across the USA and abroad!
We have partnered with
Charge Running to provide an awesome virtual experience and connect with all of our participants LIVE on race day. You will also receive 2 weeks free on their workout app.
Cannot run live? Sign up and run with us "on demand" and you can listen to the race day experience anytime, anywhere and as many times as you wish.
The gun goes of at 12pm on Sunday, September 20th complete with:
- Opening ceremony
- Welcome from Glen's sister and GDMF President, Kate Quigley
- Words of thanks and encouragement from a GDMF Scholar
- LIVE start with Charge Running Coach who will MC throughout the race
- Live tracking of your time and distance
- Leaderboard to compete against others
- Playlist of Glen's favorite songs
- Race chat room where you can upload your "sweaty selfies", share words of inspiration and interact with the GDMF family
- A Charge Running coach will be with us the entire way, sharing stories about Glen, thanking our sponsors and getting you to the finish line!
- Cool fact: Charge Running was co-founded by a Special Ops professional!
We have been so humbled by the annual support from the community. Year 8 will look and feel different but the event will bring us ALL together for an upbeat, fun event. We are looking forward to bringing the GDMF to your town - invite your friends and family members to join us!
We are encouraging everyone to join a team
Join one on the list or create your own! Some ideas:
- Winchester High School Alumni
- Winchester High School Students
- Glen's old haunts - Encinitas, Utah, River Guides, SEAL Teams, etc
- Friends of Glen get your friends and neighbors to join us!
*With the cancelation of both the Boston and NYC Marathons, we are relying on the virtual race to help us recoup lost revenues. Our marathon programs bring in over $115,000 annually. To date we have raised about $45,000.
Your registration fees and sponsorship support will go directly to our scholarship fund. We are currently supporting 13 scholars as they go back to school this fall and are reviewing 18 new candidates. Your participation will help us continue our mission to support the Special Ops community. Thank you!
